In every way Mark is unveiling the mysteries of the kingdom, and with each new revelation we cannot help but see the incredible contrast between the ways of the fallen world versus the ways of God. As we enter the second half of the gospel of Mark, the driving message becomes the cost of the kingdom, from Jesus’ death, to the conflict with the kingdoms of darkness and men. The question beneath the surface is “Am I ready to give up everything to follow Jesus?”
