There are so many things competing for prominence in our lives, so many voices clamoring to be heard, but the one voice that always gets its way is our own. In the end we do what we think is best, regardless of what anyone else thinks. Yet we are quick to keep account of every voice that tells us what we want to hear so that when it doesn’t go right we have someone else to pin it on, because we can’t be our own worst enemy . . . Or can we be?
