Dear Theophilus: Where Your Treasure is, your heart will be

Luke 12.13-34, Deuteronomy 18.15

When life feels uncertain, where do we instinctively place our trust? In Luke 12.13–34, Jesus confronts our tendency to seek security in possessions, planning, and self-sufficiency, and invites us instead into a deeper dependence on God. This is not a warning against wealth or a scolding of the anxious, but a call to examine our allegiance. Jesus reminds us that the Father delights to give us the kingdom—and that true freedom comes when our treasure, and our trust, are firmly rooted in him.
