Outreach & International Missions
We share God’s love through outreaches. The word, outreach, pretty much says it all: Out. Reach.
In other words, going out into the community—reaching out to others with the love of Jesus Christ. For the Vineyard Christian Church, demonstrating love and kindness is done in numerous ways. Locally, it could be as simple as feeding the homeless, a free car wash in town, giving out gifts on Christmas Day, or serving breakfast each year to the teachers at Hernando High as they return to school each fall—or something of that sort. On an international scale, it’s seen in collecting supplies for children or relief efforts, or traveling overseas to help the poor and oppressed people in places like Puerto Rico and Ethiopia, and establishing churches.
We do this because Jesus’ words motivates us to do so:
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed…” —Luke 4
Over the last year, as a new church, we have been getting established, preaching the gospel in our community, and changing lives; in so doing, helping mankind by making disciples wherever we go. Whether God calls us to reach out to people in Ethiopia or a single mother down the street, He challenges us to take action, to be just, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with Him. You can’t do all of that hiding in a church building. You have to get out and reach out. We hope you will join us in reaching out to our community and to the world.
